Members of the Flagg Road Church Youth Group and I went to The First Baptist Church in Bloomfield. First, we attended a church class. There were 100 kids in the class! The teacher talked to us about how one decision we make can change our lives forever, and how we should try to be good church people even after Sunday, like on Monday in school. He asked the kids if we could “keep it real” because he knows what it is like for us in the real world. Then we went to church with the adults. It was huge! The church had two movie screens to project the words for the hymns, and there was a band on stage accompanying everyone singing. We swayed and clapped our hands. We took Communion and they collected offering on the stage, so we all went up to the stage to give our offerings, too. We all enjoyed the great experience! Before we left, we discussed what we thought of the experience, the teacher in the classroom, and about decisions we make in our lives at school and at home. I think that the experience was a magical one—loud, but magical. We summarized our experience with words like “amazing, moving, and awesome.”
