The Flagg Road Church and its Hartmeadow Village are situated on a large and beautiful piece of property on Flagg Road in West Hartford Connecticut, just across from the Westmoor Park. Flagg Road is adjacent to Albany just off the Bishops Corner, and can also be accessed from Mountain Road.
The church was built in 1963 and, at that time, was an extremely innovative piece of architecture. The meetinghouse is completely round and has twelve walls, with lots of glass so the sun comes pouring in daily. The sanctuary, although modern because it is in the round, also gives the feeling of a traditional New England Congregational meetinghouse. Newcomers often comment on the sense of holiness that this space provides, with its simple pulpit, communion table, and comfortable pew type chairs.
The churchs lounge is an attractive sunny space for meetings and events. Here the people share coffee and good company on Sundays and gather at the fireplace to celebrate special occasions.
Classrooms and offices are located on the east side. Church groups and outside groups gather here for meetings and classes. We also have an inviting space for babies and small children. Adult supervisors will be there to welcome the little ones.
