Welcome to the website of the Flagg Road Church. We are glad you have found us! We hope you will come and visit us in person in the days ahead. Ours is a smaller church, but exciting and unique. Our denomination is the United Church of Christ. Our tradition and polity are congregational. Flagg Road Church is made up of people of all ages who enjoy being together. We share joys and sorrows, as we celebrate life together. Here you will find meaningful worship, exciting programs, social events, educational opportunities, and sincere and lasting friendships.
Worship Style
Worship services, in our beautiful sun-filled circular meetinghouse usually last for about an hour. We begin with the Call to Worship as the choir processes to their places. This is followed by an Opening Prayer and then a special time for children. The minister calls the children forward and shares an interactive time with a story and prayer. The children then go to their classes and the service continues with announcements of joys and concerns. A deacon reads the lesson from the Old Testament/Hebrew scripture. Following prayers of the church, our minister reads the New Testament scripture and preaches. After the sermon, the choir sings an anthem while the offering is taken. On the first Sunday of most months, communion is served.(Communion is open to all who choose to participate). A closing hymn is sung and the benediction given. In addition, services are often enhanced by extra musical offerings of instrumentalists and singers, adults, children and youth.
Following worship is Coffee Time. Church members and families take turns preparing these enjoyable social events. This is a time for people to be together and for visitors and friends to be welcomed.
